Curator

Zukiswa Wanner is an active member of the publishing and literary community supporting many of the initiatives that are mooted. These are some of the initiatives which she has founded and curated;

Afrolit Sans Frontières – a virtual literary festival she founded as a response to the curfews and lockdowns related to the 2019–20 coronavirus pandemic within the African continent. The festival ram for six editions involving some of the leading names in writing in African and its diaspora.

Artistic Encounters – The Artistic Encounters series brings together the work of two different artists in one space, at the same time. The objective of the series is to bring two different artists from two different fields together, to create new work or bring a new perspective to a work of art. In so doing, the event also attracts an audience that would normally attend the performance of one of the artists to a place, where the artist collaborates with another, and hence they both benefit from a shared audience. The encounters have been hosted in Nairobi, Johannesburg, and Zurich.

Virtually Yours– an online platform for avid readers, authors, people in the trade, African literature interest groups and literature enthusiasts in general who are interested in African contemporary literature and to bring them into dialogue with each other. This was the successor to the Afrolit Sans Frontières initiative.
